Earlier this year designer Alexander Wang announced his plans to launch a menswear collection for spring 2010.. now the collection is slated to launch at the end of this month! According to WWD, “the new men’s offerings will be part of his secondary T label, which he is evolving beyond T-shirt and tank basics for women as well.” Can’t wait to see his designs… he’s got such great style and a personality to match.
Talking about his 2009 resort collection, Alexander joked that his downtown hipster has moved to “an old boat somewhere with a bunch of robes and stuff, and decides to dock somewhere random.”
Sharon Tate was the beautiful blond actress and icon who starred in “Valley of the Dolls,” married director Roman Polanski, and then was brutally murdered by Charles Manson’s gang at a Benedict Canyon home in August of 1969. Her husband Polanski was on a film set in Europe. Before her death, the couple were the iconic epitome of Euro-Hollywood chic.
But her hairstyle – center parted, over the shoulders, and slightly wavy and flipped – lives on today, particularly showing up on tv shows like “Gossip Girls” – and is still highly influential still in beauty circles. She often wore her crown teased a bit, very Dusty Springfield-style. Kate Moss has often adopted the look.
Now Sharon’s sister Deborah Tate will be showing an exhibition of some of Sharon’s clothes – very sixties styles – on the 40th anniversary of her death, this August 8th. It will be a mixed media art exhibit, and will certainly show that her breezy sixties’ style and great looks and mini dresses and white pants are still all in vogue today. It will be shown in a studio in Culver City, and you can be sure Sharon Tate images will be showing up in August magazines and on tv that week. Even Farrah Fawcett had a Sharon Tate-inspired look. Kim and Kourtney look stunning while shopping at Fred Segal on July 8th. I’m obsessed with both of their outfits. They also ran into Stephanie Pratt (and her new nose.. jk.. maybe). Kim looks fabulous in a white scoopneck top, black trousers, and white pumps, while Kourtney chose a loose white shirt with tiny shorts and gladiator sandals. They both are wearing Glam sunglasses too! I wish Khloe had been with them.

My thoughts and prayers are with Michael’s kids, family, and friends today. We were all touched so much by his life, his heart, and his music.
Michael Jackson influenced the world of fashion almost as much as he did the world of music and entertainment. Our generation’s Elvis will be greatly missed.
