Princess Kate’s wedding dress for public display

Princess Catherine’s amazing wedding dress is going on public display at Buckingham Palace. The already iconic gown, which was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, will be the main attraction at the British royal residence’s summer opening, July 23rd-October 3rd.

The dress will be exhibited alongside Catherine’s tiara, shoes, jewelery, and the couple’s wedding cake.

A source close to the couple said: “Other cakes were made to serve to guests, but the one that was cut by the royal couple is the one that will be on display. There is a cut into it where the Duke and Duchess cut into it with a sword.”

Meanwhile, the couple – who are set to take residence at an apartment in London’s Kensington Palace – are advertising for household servants to take care of their day-to-day needs and notices have gone up at Buckingham Palace asking staff to apply.

Kate Middleton and Her Stunning Sarah Burton Gown

Kate Middleton Wedding Gown

Everyone’s still buzzing about how gorgeous Kate Middleton looked in her beautiful wedding dress. The dress was, of course, designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.

Sarah Burton released the following statement:

“Catherine looked absolutely stunning today, and the team at Alexander McQueen are very proud of what we have created. The dress was just one component of a spectacular day, and I do not think it is appropriate to comment any further beyond saying that I personally am very grateful and honoured to have been given the opportunity to work on this project, and I wish TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge every good wish for the future.”

Jean Paul Gaultier Set for Target Collaboration

Target Lines Up Jean Paul Gaultier —Confirming rumors that have been circulating for the past month, Jean Paul Gaultier has signed on for the next installment of Target’s Designer Collaborations, following in the footsteps of Alexander McQueen and Anna Sui. His collection, set to be available March 7 through April 11, “pays tribute to the American woman, celebrating the forces of style both past and present in American pop culture,” according to Target. So excited, although I’ve yet to see anything from McQueen at Target. Can’t WAIT for those to hit stores.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 Collection in Paris

“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” – Marilyn Monroe

So, I’m finally getting around to posting the photos from (my favorite designer!) Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 Collection shown in Paris. The show opened with a video of a topless Raquel Zimmermann writhing in the sand with snakes. What a way to start! I’ve been reading how some models wore prosthetics around their eyes to make them look like aliens, and they took three hours to apply.

The ten inch shoes stole the show, 2nd had to be the fascinating hair and makeup. I’m so amazed by the shoes, and how the models worked it effortlessly.

Breathless!

Alexander Queen Fashion Show ft. Lady Gaga

My favorite designer Alexander McQueen struck gold again in this recent Paris Fashion Show. Lady Gaga also debuted her new single “Bad Romance” while the show was going on. Love the song, love the clothes, love the insane shoes. Amazing job, McQueen.

Tim Burton Styles Harpers Bazaar Spread

In anticipation of the Burton retrospective that is coming to the New York Museum of Modern Art in November, Fashion giant Harper’s Bazaar asked Director Tim Burton to dream up his fantasy fashion spread, one that is inspired by his own dark and magical movies. I love this spread, no one does these kind of looks quite like Burton. My boyfriend is obsessed with his films, and he has gotten me hooked. Doesn’t hurt that Johnny Depp is in the majority of his films! Everyone loves Depp, right? Here are the photos, the 2nd look is my favorite. I’m a sucker for Jack. Photographs by Tim Walker.
